Launching of the National Pharmacovigilance System
 
Under the patronage and presence of his excellency the Minister of Public Health Dr. Firass Al-Abiad, the National Pharmacovigilance Program was officially launched on September 14th 2022, in a ceremony held at the Mövenpick Hotel in Beirut.

The event was attended by key officials from the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), the Lebanese University, World Health Organization (WHO), World Bank, École Supérieure des Affaires (ESA), and Agence Française de Développement (AFD). The audience also included the President of the Syndicate of Pharmacists and the President of the Lebanese Pharmaceutical Importers & Wholesalers Associations, representatives of the Lebanese pharmaceutical companies (LPG) and academic community, as well as various healthcare professionals.

The event was broadcasted virtually through Zoom where more than 300 attendees have joined.

Officials from the WHO regional office in Egypt, the WHO headquarters in Switzerland, and from the Medicinal and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency-UK have participated with short speeches.
