The National Lifeline is a hotline that provides a safe space for anyone experiencing severe psychological distress or having thoughts of harming themselves or taking their own life to talk to people who will listen. Lifeline staff are trained and supervised by mental health professionals and provide:
- Actively listening to the caller.
- Providing psychological and moral support.
- Assessing the severity of suicidal thoughts and providing support in reducing the risk of suicide.
- Directing the caller when needed to mental health services available in Lebanon.
